I've got to put in an hour or
I've got to put in an hour or so on Boxinng Day taking meat trays down to the RSL for the Sunday meat draw. Why would anyone want to go to a meat raffle on Boxing Day?
David
Old is good.
have to work?
you don't have to work you choose to work.
they hire your time they don't own you.
bet your getting paid a bit of cash or making alot more than most.
merry Christmas.
Hiding rust under body filler isn't actually repairing the car. Even harder to catch out bogmen these days as filler has metal fibres in it.
I have to work.
Cause there's no plane to fly me out of here till Tuesday morning and it's to hot and a hell of a long walk to Newman or Tom Price to find another way home.Got to keep the country going with all those big Iron Ore deliveries to Asia giving the government some cash to waste in the various ways it does.
Merry Christmas to all and have a great New Year.
PS,play it safe whether at home or at work.We were told tonight of another accident related death in the mining industry which happened today at FMG's Cloud Break operation. Not the news anyones loved ones want's to hear let alone at this time of year.
you are wrong
HZ tonner. You are wrong, it's not greed, it's a respect thing. I think you are a wanker
Gawd..

How So
I was the tosser for 6 years. Do you want some suckhole points for getting double time and a half? You don't have to work mate we hire your time we don't own you. If we were scraping the barrel for labour on the day and you were on the list to get rid of the "if you don't come don't come back" may of come out. Why plenty of blokes start a new year with a new job. How it is.
What did i say thats not true?
So you dug up an 8 year old thread good on ya couldn't give a rats what you think.

Some people have to work
Some people have to work Christmas Day. There are a*hole employers out there who make it quite clear to their employees (especially casuals) that if they don't work Christmas Day, they won't get work after Christmas Day. These people have a choice, but they can't afford not to work in the long term. So they really have no no choice.
Some people would rather not work, but out respect for their job and employer, they will work. Even if they would rather not. Last Christmas Day, I did an 8 hour shift. I didn't really want to, but some drivers were sick, some were away, some just refused. I was the last man standing. If the bus didn't run the company would get fined $50,000. What would the knockers do? Would they just say no?
It's a two way street, and fortunately the company I work for makes sure it goes both ways if you do the right thing.
That is why I worked.
David
Old is good.
On work
I used to be in the RAAF for 11 years as a Captain
I had to work and in some cases I was based overseas, so at least you were home for Xmas hz tonner !!!!!!
A lot of people forget about “service members” it’s a 24/hr 7 days a week 365 days of the year.
And I’m sure the emergency service are to ????
Or did you forget about them to ?
As I always say
Stay safe all

You assume alot Ive wasted alot time at crappy places like RAAF base Tindal ect. From what I saw at most bases I went too most of you do a of alot of sfa. Contractors build the bases and fix anything thats too hard . I've never felt well after being exposed to asbestos at Tindal

Hz tonner
Yea I did sfa !!!!!!!!!
Feel free to ask me for a copy of my service records. Or better than feel free to phone me
Maybe you should take your own advice and read the capatual at the bottom of your page

on base
the blokes on the base didnt do much on the bases i went to.
My grammer skills where I said you meaning all the personal I had anything to do with is a bad terminology I did not set out to offend anyone personally.
Apologies even thou I doubt youll except it.
In hindsight I wish I never set foot on any RAAF or Navy bases ever.

ding dong your wrong
ding dong your wrong
I will except Apologies
I myself owe you one to,
"Please except my Apologies Hz tonner 308"
I get a little defensive when people bag out ADF members, I had 32 GOOD men in my unit and to this day I am proud to call them my brothers,
The only time we were on base was on R and R or being deployed to another "Hostile situation"
Desert storm x2, Somalia,Ethiopia, Nigeria,Saudi Arabia, Garza City,
Bosnia, East Timor x 3 and Afghanistan x2
Not all RAAF men and women, are pilots and pen pushes
Now you know why i always say

the high rarkie got me
Some of the RAAFies I used to talk to out of hours said they wanted to help me but weren't allowed to. When a tight contractor made me join short cables in the ground together I thought the RAAF bloke I ratted them out to would stand by me. 3 years later when it blew up ole mate potted me I was the tosser by then. Step forward who wants to be boss and the rest of the blokes stepped back is how I used to tell people I got that job.
As usual I struggle with the written word.
Hopefully I haven't offended any ADF members.15 years later Ill still have a knuckle with any of the engineers or bean counters that created the cockups. Apologies to all ADF members.

Captain
DDD how long were you in the ADF for ? Were you a Group Captain in the RAAF?
Andrew
Confused?????
First I mean no disrespect to those that have served as I have done and continue to this day.
I have served 31 years in the ADF/ Defence and there is no such rank as Captain in the RAAF.
As I head overseas on a 3 year posting to Warner Robins AFB, USA supporting our C17 capability.
Dirdsme
I wasGround combat, search and recovery units,
A Group Captain refers to polits and is above a “wing commander” an is a senior officer.
I was only a captain in combat ranks

ah ok so ground defence...I was going to say if you made GPCAPT in 11 years it would have been a meteoric rise like George Custer becoming a General .....In the Navy it typically takes 20 to 25 years to make Captain - same as Colonel or Group Captain...
Andrew
That’s correct

I don't choose to work either. I have to work to pay the bills. If I could swing it, I'd never work again.
Anyway, luckily I have the next 10-12 days off, all the best guys..
