In 71/72 our family went to Cairns in an EK Wagon immediately after the big Cyclone that devastated Townsville. We camped at Valla Beach and waited for the Cyclone to pass before continuing. My Father and I drove through numerous sections of flooded highway and each time we removed the fan belt and drove through with all 4 doors open! But only if the water was stationary. A few times we had water up to the seat upholstery. We picked up a couple hitch hiking north of Townsville just before the main highway bridge at Townsville was washed away on our return from Cairns. We asked why they were hitching and they pointed to their EK Wagon floating down the river about a mile away. They drove through without opening the doors or removing the fan belt and while the water was still flowing. Only in an old Holden!
Is that 48 215 an Air Ride? Or a Water Ride?
