Seen one off these complete in a paddock anyone think there going to be a collectors car yet .

Comments

There is a reasonable following of these, and the last of them were pretty good. But the fact is they are a 4 cylinder car that will never be worth a great deal. Geminis are as old as HJ to VL and there are many good examples that are selling for less than $10k, dreamer over $15k.

The Camira will be the same, but as they are a bit younger, you can pick up a good SL/E with all the good bits for under $5k. Here is a really clean JE SL/E low milage (we got 350,000kms out of ours before it was written off in an accident)for under $3k.

So no I do not think you should invest in a Gemini or a Camira, unless you like them, then buy one, as they are great value for money ATM, and enjoy it, like all car owners should.

Any Camira that has survived to 2018 would be a collector's car today.
A bit of trivia: there was no Camira wagon until Holden developed the rear parts to make the sedan into a wagon. They ended up CKD wagon kits to Europe.

Old is good.

We had a wagon in the early nineties, had all the bells and whistles and way cheaper than anything comparable at the time. It overheated one night on my way home from work (wasn’t a head gasket) but I limped it into a golf course car park and was gonna pick it up in the next couple of days, anyway, a week later and it was gone. Also had a ‘79 Sigma before the Camira which I’d swapped a beautiful HG Monaro for, (the dumb things we do).

I worked with a bloke years ago that had a beautiful Mach 1 Mustang. 351 auto air power everything, factory tinted windows etc. He traded it in on a EB Falcon wagon. The salesman saw him coming.

If I was being chased by the cops I would hope they were in one of those.

"If your car has quarter vents, a diff at the back, and was available with wind-down windows, you may talk to me.
Otherwise I am not interested. Amen."

Nivas are cool.
I'd drive one.

Life is too brief to build ya own time machine
With out old Aussie products an a few blurbombs 🥃🥃🥃🥃🥃🥃.

Do you mean a Camira in a paddock, or a Camira COP CAR in a paddock? If it was just a Camira, leave it there. If it was an ex-cop car, l'd grab it, how grouse.
There's a Camira wagon l see now and again in my area, it's a bewdy. I'd love to buy, just because it's a Camira and it has survived..
