Best known for his role as Ted Bullpitt in 1980s series Kingswood Country, actor Ross Higgins passed away on the 7th of October 2016.
This year was the day Holden won Bathurst.
A fine tribute to our long time hero of the Holden Kingswood.
R.I.P Sir Ted Bullpitt

Not the Kingswood
Over the years there been meny of clams of “what model Kingswood” he actually had ?
Was it the HK the first of them?
Or the HZ the last model around the same time the show first went to air ?
I carnt seem to find any info let alone an episode of where they show the main star of the show?
Any ideas or thoughts?

Season 1 episode 7 'Aerial warfare'
In this eposode you see the broken aerial off of the Kingswood. This may help id which model it came off, I think the pre HQ ones were not entirely collapsible. Its not much but its something.
No idea
I used to watch it when it was on in the early 80s and in my teens...I can't recall ever seeing a car in the show...at the time I just assumed it would have been a HJXZ..thinking it was a recent model - maybe a few years old but not anything earlier...thats based on nothing other than what I thought at the time while watching the show...so influenced by my own surroundings...my Dad had a HT Kingswood and at the time it seemed like an old junker...in the early 80s the HX and Zs still appeared as modern, late model cars...
Andrew
I’m thinking
Maybe a HQ ?
As it was the new look 70s model and the biggest seller to date by Holden?
Now my dad always thought it was a station wagon Becomes he always used to say “ not the Kingswood I just mr shean the hood rack”

extensive research shows
after 5 min web surfing using google ha ha - could not find anything..other than a few comments suggesting the car was never shown or model identified..i did try searching for quotes as well for any hints but lucked out there as well...there was a few picks of Neville the Aboriginal Statue he adored in the front garden..but no car...
Andrew
Yea dirdsme
I have searched for years in my spare time lol
Have watched nearly every episodes on YouTube and no car in site even in the early episodes and when he was asked to put the Kingswood in a museum and was given a brand new model commadore towards the end of the of its days of final episodes.
A gentleman in my car club up this way a few years ago tried to do a tribute car to Kingswood Country as a retirement project and had no luck,
Little hints like pee boing the tow ball and mr shean the roof rack made my dad think it was a station wagon?
BUT at the time of the shows airing, he did the pee bo aids and was the voice of Mr shean
I’m thinking HQ at the time biggest selling model ?
I guess Sir Ted Bullpit took it with him

Teds Car
Next time you watch the whole lot check out for this maybe ?

T also met him and did a post somewhere.
you mean
this pair of blokes lol
2 years ago there was an old couple in Cairns that had a "Neville" in there front garden, made the front page of the Cairns Post news paper and to cut a long story short the local council and police were asked to go around by popular demand to have poor old Neville removed from the front yard

maybe
It must have had a chrome grille because in one episode he refers to having just "Ipana'd the grille". Ipana was a brand of toothpaste for those too young to know.
the old fellow in my club, had a chat to an old friend of the family who use to work for Holden now retired, said that there was a rumor that Holden sponsored the show because it was the last year that the KINGSWOOD was going to be produce because of the new model COMMODORE in the new line up. BUT the car was NEVER shown to Holden workers. There was also the story that it was the First Holden HK. BOTH were said to be BLUE. for the aussie icon and the colour of the Australia flag being an aussie car BUT as he said it was rumor.
But the search will go on

Bulpit
Found it. I posted this some time ago and just found it again.
HJ
I recall from this discussion a few years back that certain things mentioned in the show suggested it was a HJ, where upon it was agreed by members.
