I need some help I haven't touched the ek in 6 years I doubt I'm ever going to get back to working on it the only work I've done on old holdens in the last 5 years is putting my parts on other blokes old holdens it seams. I want to move to a coastal town and build a house I can't see myself ever having the money to finish the ek. If I move Ill have no where to store it its all ready copped a few dints from people walking past it where I have it.
I'll stop here before I start ranting and get to the question of what you blokes think its worth weather I'd be better to sell it as one lot or in parts I'd prefer to sell the lot, along with would I be better off to sell it from Frankston or Morwell. I've lost track of how much Ive spent on it I did enjoy welding it up with my oldman sadly sentimental value isn't worth money.

what the best option is but sorry to hear about your predicament ...if you have almost everything needed then I'd think it woukld appeal to someone who wants a project and finish it off..you would probably get a better price by selling individual parts but it would take quite a long time and be much more hassle which it sounds like you don't need. Good luck.

Thanks for your thoughts I can't blame anyone but myself for how it turned out as a good union member i went on strike plenty of times while I had time to put more of it together the fact the steering box wont work with those wheels might of caused the last dummy spit. I don't like the hr steel bush front end in it the car needs a lot of work

Along with it hasn't got 2 feet of ground clearance and diff lockers

I would mock it up so it looks like something because first impression is what sells things .
I had to sell my kingswood cause off time and money space etc etc and kept my HQ which kept me sane .
I ended up with a turn key half decent size tinnie that l can leave outside and not worry about and some coin in my pocket good luck with the sale but l have noticed cars sell for different prices depending on location as well cheers

With out old Aussie products an a few blurbombs 🥃🥃🥃🥃🥃🥃.

You have a lot of nice shiny new parts there, if you have time before you need to sell it why not assemble as much as you can? At the very least when you sell it you should get more for it and spending time working on it will likely truly help you decide if you really do want to part with it.

If you do decide to part with it try to use some of the money for something else that will give you some happiness, it will make regret less likely later on. I was in a similar situation to Kinswood a few years ago I had 2 cars (my HQ and a HB Torana drag car project) Knowing that I couldn't ever sell the HQ and that for other reasons I would never likely finish the HB I decided to sell the HB. I used some of that coin to buy myself a lathe (I enjoy making things) and that helps to not feel that I made a mistake selling the HB.

If you were the next bloke would you rather put the rechromed bumpers ect together yourself rather than possibly scratching them taking them off and on again. Where I live putting it together in a cave isn't the right thing to do of course ill clean all the dust off everything before I try and advertise it.

I wouldn’t be putting any of the new/reco’d Gear on it. Any potential buyer would have peice of mind knowing and seeing that it’s all new, as it’s packaged and boxed. If it’s on the car it doesn’t really indicate that it’s new. I reckon any new buyer would prefer to install it themself, it’ll give them a sense of accomplishment. Besides, if you’ve lost the passion you don’t wanna be dickin around on it peicing it together . Just off load it and move on.
It’s hard to determine its worth, put it on eBay and start high then lower the price after a period. Or put it on Gumtree as an expression of interest and don’t have a listed price.

If the body is rust free and straight and you have all the parts it would be a good buy at up to $10,000 or more at least with all the new bits.
An EH in similar condition was for sale in Port Macquarie fir $17,000. It took 3 days to sell.
Consider what an original car with some rust and no new parts is worth and yours becomes good value at a higher price.

Old is good.

I was thinking $8500. As you mentioned it needs a lot of work. Because it’s not a straight forward resto as there is modifications made to it from stock that either need finished, corrected or removed.

Im not selling it now my its going to my friends workshop.
Ill up date this thread when its on a hoist and Ive done something the next update will be the big Tonys defect list of whats changing lets hope the car can drive around the workshop by the end of the year.
