11QT is the prefix for HQ-late HZ Statesman. Check the date stamp to narrow it down further.
Cheers.

This would make it one of the early Turbo pattern motors. As they were introduced during the HJ range of the H-series.

Hi Debbie.
Congratulations.
I am also a SS owner and part of a SS owners and enthusiasts group.
The paint and trim you are describing are called Ultra Violet for the paint and Raydo Flax is the name of the insert material with the little squares.
Which is the correct one for your 10D trim code.
You may be interested to have a look at our picture account site linked below.
Which now has over 1300 HQ SS related pictures there
If you want to send me a email on the email link below.
I can also give you a fair bit of information about the SS's and there history.
We also have a little HQ SS forum if you are interested as well.
Cheers Paul.

I am in WA myself so I am not sure on a trimmer in Brisbane but a few of the other group members/Forum members are from up that way and may be able to suggest someone to you.

Hi Paul thanks so much for the trim information did a web search at work today and found a guy in Brisbane with what he believes is the last two yards of this cloth insert material well that's what he told me seems it is quite rare and some XU-1'S used it as well as the SS I don't know(I bought it all so if anyone else needs some it is cool I got enough to trim a dozen cars)

Had a look at Jens photos and the other site you gave me These cars are so beautiful . Mine is the ugly duckling though it is only paint and trim I can make it the beautiful swan it once was one thing about this car is, it has a genuine clock in the dash where the Hi beam light and holden badge normally sits in a HQ. I got the original invoice for the car and it cost $44 plus $2.50 to fit probably a weeks pay back then You know because of the clock there is not one Holden badge on this car Nowhere except for under the bonnet

Seen your site and like the rules and conditions especially the non swearing I'm going tonight now actually to Kingaroy that's where I was born about 1.5 hours good run for the SS.Will sign up when I come back after Easter and looking forward to talking to Jen (if there is any cost please let me know) Happy Easter and best wishes to all Debbie

HI Debbie.
There are no fees or anything like that for the forum or the group.
It is the same as this great site just people that help other people out.
The main difference is that our forum is a lot smaller and mainly HQ and HQ SS orientated but not totally.

The HQ SS Owners and Enthusiasts Group is a a mainly internet based group that came together in the beginning of 2008.
Emails were the original way that we all got into contact with each other to compare notes on the HQ SS and let each other know about any HQ SS related things that we had come across.
The original emails used to contain everyone's email addresses but because of the problems we now face with spammers etc and the shear number of people that
these are now sent to we no longer do this.
The down side of this is that you cannot directly contact each other via email unless you already know each other.

Fortunately this was overcome by the SS Forum.
So if you want to talk to a fellow member you can post on the forum or more privately through the personal message system.
All this of course would not be possible if it was not for Scott from Concourse parts providing the forum for us to use.

Cheers Paul.

Hello all,
Im new to this scene, and didnt know how to approach this subject without looking like a tossa! But found your website.
So here goes,
There has been alot of publicity about the Green Commodore Build Number 001 and how it is the first Brock commodore.
My familly has also seen the 100,000 dollar plus price the owner is asking for it.

I would like to set the record straight and inform people that this vehicle is NOT the number one Brock, but is in FACT the second.
I am not sure if anyone knows this or not but there was actually an earlier vehicle and it was based on a VB sedan.
Since the late 1980's my familly has owned what my Dad believed to be the first Brock Commodore.
Its build number is 000 and it started life as a Blue 1980 VB Commodore SL Sedan with tan trim.
This car is currently unregistered but in running order, needing much body work but basically complete.
My Mother and Father drove this car for many years, it has build papers stating its a prototype and log books from the day.
Build date for the Commodore is: 2-80
Vin Number: AVB 038796 M
Skinny tag: 8L69RKJ692068B
Big tag: Model: VB8VL69
Body: 692068M
Trim: 1934-63X
Paint: HH5372
Eng: Blank
Trans: Blank
Axel: Blank
The car currently has a 308 and 4 speed gearbox in it.
As the skinny tag suggests we have worked out this car was in Fact a 253 V8, NOT a 308V8 as many believe.
We believe the car was supplied by a dealer in S.A and Brock worked his magic a few months later, even though it was a Melbourne built Commodore.
The build number is: 000
This is why it is the first prototype and NOT the Green Car Build number 001, that car is actually number two but as the build numbers started at 000 the number two car has been wrongly called the first.
I am not trying to cause any dramas or problems for the owner of 001, i am only setting the record straight with the correct facts.
There has in the past been numerous vehicles claiming to be the first Brock VB, but we known the blue sedan we have is in fact the real deal.
The car has build papers and log books supporting this, and has gone through 4 various engine number changes since manufacture in 1980.
I hope this is of some benifit to your Brock readers.
Thankyou.

There were definately Tangerine / Black stripe Monaro's. Lone O'ranger stripes was certainly more common but either were available. I had a 308 auto GTS sedan factory Tangerine/Black stripe back in the late 80's with original paint. Still have photo's somewhere if interested.

Can anyone tell me if these numbers mean its a genuine Monaro. 8Q69TFL322444J
but the date on the ADR plate has manufacture date as 09/75. I thought the F meant 1976. Also the Model Body and Trim plate is stamped from the front, not raised letters stamped from the rear. Should the production manufacture number match the chassis number.
