wiring harness

A gentleman in my car club is doing a retirement project, hes 71, and just came back on a over seas trip.
He has a 71 HQ Prem 25th Anniversary, and the wiring has been chewed by a little furry bugger in the dash area.
My question is,
Has anyone rewired there car with one of those pre kit wiring harness from Rare Spares ?????
We thinking, better to be safe than sorry and just rewire the hole car, JUST IN CASE there is more the hungry little bugger chewed.

Any advice would be much appreciated

I didn't know Rare Spares did any wiring kits, got a link? Or is it just one of those universal painless kits that they are reselling? I'd get a quote from a local auto elec first, even just to make a replacement that you do the install. The problem I find with the universal type painless kits is that they are overly expensive for what they are, will always require modifications to fit a specific car, and future repairs may be a bit trickier when the original wiring diagram is irrelevant.

My choice would be to replace the harness with another good HQ harness.
Not expensive, straightforward installation, and still original and relative to the wiring diagram.

vintage wiring do a good kit for most cars to the original
diagram
thats the way i'd go a lot less hassle than using some generic wiring kit that will probably end up costing more because it will need to be modified to suit the hq
the other option is go to swap meets and buy a good used wiring harness i have seen a few at swap meets reasonably priced

Hi - I was lucky to have two incomplete sets of HJ under-dash wiring harnesses, and was able to make one good one. I snap the up at swap meets etc if in reasonable 2nd hand condition. Be wary, the automatic and manual versions are slightly different.
