Fitting Power steering to HQ with a 350 Chev

Hi

I am trying to fit a Power steering pump to a SBC 350 Chev with a short water pump.

There is only one bolt hole in the head on the drivers side and two holes for mounting (in US) a low mount alternator. If i try and use these holes the hose from the water pump hose is in the road.

Even if i try and low mount the power steering with the alternator above on the passenger side i would then need to run longer hoses so would need to make them up.

Anyone come across this before? Help...

many thanks

The few I have seen in HQ's mounted the pump on the passenger side with long hoses.

Yep, agreed. The factory HQ 350 Statesmen had the pump on the left, down low. I don’t have a full set of factory HQ manuals, so the best I could do came from the air con section, it shows the pump on the Lhs.
