Saw this one today. Don't know what he is doing with it. It has been sitting for a while. First time I actually stopped to have a look.

Looks pretty sad.
Looks pretty sad.
Have a close look at the nuber plate on the back.
It looks one of the very early ones with diecast or aluminium letters rivetted to a steel or cast backing plate.

Old is good.
Qplate
Yup the original Qplates of that era had rivet on letters, ive got the original Qplate for my FX and its like that, bastards want 3 and half grand though for me to actually use it

That is a lot.

I sold an old truck plate similar to this one a few years ago in NSW. The numbers on the plate were available so he just ordered new plates and paid $420 a year.
It was going on a vintage truck, which only had one plate originally. He just put the old plate on the back instead of the new ones front and back.

I recently went to the Hot Rid and Custom Show at Rosehill Gardens, as part of this event Shannons had an auction where they were selling some old plates, they went for crazy money, my brother in law has a set hanging on his shed wall, I’m thinking of offering him a carton of p:ss for them
