WB fuel gauge.

Hello All.
Been a while since on here, due to work etc. But have a question, I have searched the pages but unable to find. So have a WB ute with WB statesman dash. Couple of questions. I used the statesman wiring loom and cut in cabin, wired rear light etc. Now would I connect the earth from fuel tank to earth into statesman dash. But I imagine the sender and gauge is not matched, what is the best way to get gauge to work with sender reasonably accurate, doesn't have to be perfect.

Thanks in advance.

An earth should be an earth..So the fuel gauge sender unit can be earthed to any good earth. The gauge (receives a stabilised 10V) and the sender resistance on the Statesman varies from approx 40 Ohms Full, 98 Ohms half and 283 Oms empty. So you can measure your sender resistance and compare to these values - the commercial WB should be the same as HZ so the values would be quite a bit lower than the Statesman....about 10 to 72 Ohms... so if you added a 30 Ohm resistor in series with Sender the gauge will read correctly at full...and about half when empty...if you put a 200Ohm resistor in series it would read correct at empty but...only marginally above empty at full...so I think you really need to change the gauge to suit the sender...or vice versa if a Statesman sender will fit the tank and operate over the range...

The WB Statos had a 91 litre tank but the commercials 70.4l - not sure if it makes a difference with the gauge cal
