Holden Sheet Metal Thickness

Hi All,
Am going to need to replace some sheet metal in a HG ute tray area, what thickness should I use? What is the best sort to use?
Does anyone know a good source in Western Sydney?

Also, what is the best thickness to use for repairing panels (guards, tailgate, etc.)?

Cheers
Scott

There are a few different thicknesses in your Holden. Most of it all is about 1.1mm to 1.2mm. Sills will be 1.6mm.

Get some verniers if you don't already have some and measure the material in question. Clean a sample, remove the paint, make sure there are no sharp edges and also don't remove any metal from where you will measure for obvious reasons.

In my HZ panelvan the floor pans, roof, and sides have all been 1.2mm

The metal to ask for at your steel supplier is 'cold rolled steel' it comes in a sheet 2400 x 1200.

Hope this helps.

Curly.

Scott, you can get it from Buttsworth at Windsor.
That's where I got mine from. You don't have to
buy a full sheet, most times they'll have off cuts
