Installation of X2 gauge in HR

I'm replacing the old gauge with a X2 gauge. Can anyone tell me if it is just a matter of changing over gauges or is there more to it. i believe the fual and amp are straight forward but have heard stories about the temp and oil. any help or information would be appreciated.

regards

OK, don't hook up the amp gauge as you will have all the power to the whole car running through old, worn insulators and will cause a fire! Oil gauge sender can be bought new for around $75. Temp gauge sender is no longer available. A guy wanted to sell me one he had for $250, thats how rare they are. Apparently you can buy a 2" VDO 'cockpit' temp gauge and sender to suit. You ake the X2 cluster and the new VDO temp gauge to an instrument repair shop and they put the guts of the VDO gauge into the X2 cluster and it will read accurately off the new sender. Good luck!
