first off all how worked is your 202 as when i worked mine thermos heeted it more but if you havent pulled the dip stik out cheak if it is grey if so it's the head if not you will get away with a new water pump but you may have done damage to the head allready but with the stamp AHX it is genuine but they did not come in that coulour aqua so serch under the paint for the real colour for restoration ,Ihave counted nine sofar (don't give the chassis number as someone may use it )as for how much they were built the same year as th LE monaro and am still waiting for holden to plz explain as they are not in the 50yrs of holden wich means that they forgot about it and most don't eaven know they exist but i think yours is genuine as now one else has admited that there's has the stamp ahx but it is definatly not a dealer production as it markes fifty years after general motors taking over the holden building plant which then became holden so keep in contact with info you colect so we can sort it out

mattao,

You will be waiting a long time for Holden to explain why they forgot to include the 50th Anniversary HX in "50 years of Holden". Holden didn't write the book, Terry Bebbington did.

Is that what you were talking about? The rest of your massive sentence doesn't make any sense.

Brett.

What do you mean "cheak if it is grey if so it's the head"? What makes you think there is something wrong with the water pump? There are plenty of other things that can make an engine overheat. What about a blocked up radiator? Thermostat not opening properly? Incorrect ignition timing? Running too lean? Maybe the ignition and mixture should be checked, they may also be responsible for the lack of power.
By the way mattao, go back to school and learn how to spell and construct proper sentences.

for starters the author of 50 years of holden would have to been autherised to relese the book by holden other wise legality's would of caned him and for it not making sence you are not smart enough to add your own full stops and commers and read it properly mr BRETT and as for the holden fan with no name if the oil from the dip stick (you) is grey then there is water mixed with itand for the water pump how do you take your fan and water pump off (your probable one of these dipstiks that drill a hole through your radiator to get it of pitty i cheack it all as I take it out (yes like a car loveing person) and i don't know many people that don't replace there thermostat when they replace the water pump they sort of go together as when one is done the other an't far behind. as for lean or rich he had allready said it sonded fine so where is your reading skills i may have a few errors on the page but you cant read lack of power could also be the cam pistons ect but the person needed some where too start no dought you had education paid for (oop'a i miss spelt some words)so go push ya nose up and join your friends on another web site as you didn't leve a name...... have a good read MATTAO

The easiest way to cope with a reply that feels like someone is putting [Naughty Pottyword] on you is ignore it. It show's you are man enough not to bight back.

Other posters will see that it is uncalled for if it is. At the end of the day it just doesn't matter. I am about to have a pint of Guiness and continue reading. :)

Look on eBay, it wasn't that long ago there was someone on there selling blanks of keys (uncut) and the 50th Anniversary Keys were amongst them, they weren't at all expensive...

Steve I kept the above key when I traded my Kingswood Station Sedan.

As I am now in my seventies and no longer a Holden fan, I am prepared to sell it to you as I was preparing to list it on Ebay and have this site by doing a Google search

Let me know if you are interested and if so make me an offer. Please understand it will not match your ignition without some modification. The no FA68 would have been for my car.
Key is in excellent good condition with original gold tint. It was only used as emergency key and kept in a plastic container. I believe it was an A key as it has anA below the 50 Anniversary Loggo. Can email you a photo so you can judge for your self.

hI THERE
Have done HEAPS of researsh in the past on HX 50th Anniversary, and even responsible for correcting the official Holden Heritage booklet.

The 50th Anniversary is another one off model that Holden really would rather forget about!!!

It was commissioned to celebrate the 50th anniversary of GM in Australa - 1926 to 1976 - and is a modified Kingswood. Model numbers are identical to Kingswood - therefore are not distiguishable from other HX Kingswoods from the numbers. Instead they are only identifiable from the plates specifying the trim and colours.

There were three different limited edition models available (Anniversary gold over Contessa Gold, Anniversary gold over Deville Blue and anniversary gold over .... Brown)in sedan or wagon. all were built after november 1976, and each had all body badging removed and replaced with a round commemorative badge on the pillars for sedans and rear 1/4 panel for wagons. The only other external link to holden is the grill badge - no other mention of Holden on the car. The interior also has a special badge on the glove box lid. They are not numbered and were made in adelaide sydney and brisbane at least (What I have found) Numbers are probably around 500, but I have not found any official figure.

Powertrain - each was powered by a 202 with t bar trimatic auto. This is not the standard for Kingswoods of the time.

Interior - Glove box Badge plus carpet and full length centre console to house t bar. Front seats were buckets and either brown (Sorry forgot trim code) or Off White

Exterior - Special colours plus gold rooves - some blue ones have a special roof colour also. Stainless trim seperates roof and body colour. Hubcaps were borrowed from HJ Premier and covered the full wheel and where coloured to match body

Not really regarded as collectable - but still a few good ones around.

My dad bought one new in early 1977 and traded it in 1984 for a patrol. His was a brown wagon with a light coloured roof, 202 t bar auto. I remember plenty of holidays towing the family ski boat struggling to climb the hills with 5 of us in it. Never let us down though!

mate had his MIL's in the shed for years, was in excellent condition. after she checked out he was instructed to sell it and he couldn't give it away...eventually got 3.5k for it only cause the family wanted it gone. I told him to buy it and put it away but he was half way thru a bathroom reno and he was strapped himself. Was gold with a brown vinyl roof
