Wheel arch trim dent removal

Hi guys,

I purchased another HQ on the weekend as I have plenty of acreage to store them. It has decent wheel arch trims however there are a few dents in some places.

Has anyone successfully removed the dents from these without damaging the trims further?

I’m very interested to know.

Thanks in advance.

I'm not a panel beaters ar$e, but I was able to improve the side mouldings on my EH with some gentle tap tap tapping from behind.

To be honest, you could tell there had been an attempted repair but that is why I opened by stating my panel beating ability.

If the dents are bad I'm sure you will be able to improve them greatly. Spend some time shaping some wood or steel (then wrap it in a rag) to fiit or suit the dents and go gently.

Cheers,

Mick

with these "be careful" they are thin and fragile, I would use a rag and a piece of SOFT timber like pine so as not to damage the metal and leave tinny dings over it, Sore my old trade master do this to HK ones i think they were
Hope this is of some help Big G

You could try rolling them out with one of these fly screen door seal rollers on a bench with towels or rags under it,I did one years ago but it wasn't the be all to end all, just made it a bit better!...

i think the idea is to "panel beat" as straight as possible, then using a block and wet-n-dry paper sand out any high spots in the stainless until all uniform, then finally polish. becomes an invisible repair.

i have taken out a dent in my wb statesman rear boot trim like this, but this is harder only because the whole trim requires sanding as its been chrome plated (which has then pitted) its hard yakka by hand!!
