hr opel 4 speed

hi,i own factory x2 4 speed 1966 build no;267,most info says they dont exsist,dr terry says possible 7 built in x2 series,i have found owner of 67 x2 hr who also own factory built x2 4 speed,i under stand holden sent one to each state for marketing,4speed evalution,but cant understand why such a long period between builds,any info would be great,hope dr terry replies,regards nev

I was just watching this video last night and at 3.40 they state that it wasn't possible to order an X2 with 4 speed...which is aligned with what you are saying re info around ...interesting Q

Most people will state that the opel 4 speed was introduced by Holden about the same time as the 186s with the WW 2 barrel stromberg & while is possible because that may have overlapped.
You can only really prove this with the original sales paperwork.

my old high school teachers owned a hr x2 with the 4 speed opal in and another teacher owned a hd x2 that had th 4 speed opal also the hr was a 186s 2 barrel the hd had the twin carbs

there were more than 7 built i knew of at least 7 in canberra
there was a hr wagon that came in to my work it had power steering and electric windows

When I had amy Hr ute it was a 3 speed and we put the 4 speed in it.
While I was in the ADF, there was a guy who had a HR prem with a x2 and a 4speed it had SA plates on it and a nother bloke who had the HR 186s with a 4speed.
I remember both had the paper work stating factor fitted. The X2 4speed was his fathers car and was his graduation present as he past and made it as an Officer.
Was a gold in colour with a brown interior.
The S model was a silver colour and a red interior.
Have no idea wat happen to the cars, I did hear they got traded in
