recently on display at the Adelaide 500 - photo doesn't do it justice - beautiful car...I did notice though some of the panel gaps/fit could have been better...from what I've read that wasn't too uncommon back in the day...

Comments

don't know what happened with the orientation on that ! I did say the picture didn't do the car justice...fixed it by rotating 90deg in original view - bizarre...

trust me.as the owner of an FX theres no such thing as nice panel gaps, no 2 panels fit the same, and even panels taken off a car rarely fit back on the same way, when i put mine back together i had 2 boot lids to choose from 1 of them wont even fit in the opening let alone leave a gap its so much bigger than the other one.
Panels were literally custom fitted to each body as it came down the production line

maybe why they used to be called "panel beaters"...before using terms such as collision repair technician or body repair fashionista or whatever

Andrew

Definitely a nice car.

I've watched panel beaters work on gaps and it's massively time consuming.

It took the panel beater a week to hang the doors on my EH sedan and get the gaps spot on. They were all the original doors.
