HKTG spat question

Nice kingswood for sale ATM, but i noticed the louvred spats are a bit unusual. Ive seen this style on earlier holden models and I think this louvred look was a NASCO option on them but was this so in the HKTG's? or is this a custom mod?
Either way, a very nice car despite the whitewalls;)

mint original interior - but to me the front door arm rests appear at odds to the door card colour - is that how they were made?

My car has the same interior, that's normal and the colour difference has been that way in my car for 25 years. Same with my first car that had an antique gold interior.

ok that's interesting...a deliberate feature..I've only had Standards and Belmonts prior to HZ so they didn't have the luxury of arm rests...my Dad had a green HT Kingswood when I was a kid..and I know it had green arm rests and door cards but can't recall if they were a contrast to each other...I remember they were cracked and split along with the dash, front seat and the top of the rear seat was literally dust...and that was in the 70s!

Those louvres will let dust and mud through but still they look fantastic.

That looks like a nice car.

Louvred spats were a custom mod borrowed from cars in the States. Just like cruiser spats/skirts

I was thinking about the arm rests a while back (while trimming a HK Prem) and at first I thought the darker colour was probably just cause of the solid dark colour foam backing of the arm rests or the orientation of being horizontal and not vertical. But after having it trimmed in the same fabric it now looks the same. Is it possible that after 40+ years of bodily oils etc it darkens the vinyl?

here's an example of an original 81K mile car with antique gold interior - armrests look the same colour as door cards...I have noticed over the years some armrests that were different colours and just assumed the owner had replaced them with the best match they could at the time..but didn't realise factory produced them that way....ps here is two supposedly antique gold armrests...big difference...
