Air Conditioning

Thanks in advance for any advice please:
Have just had A/C installed to my 202. Compressor is A6 Delco. Problems wth belt slipping. Belt is 13A, and gets pulled down into the pulley on the compressor. 15A looks like better width, but too long.
My installer believes that the problem is the compressor is too powerful for the motor, not a belt issue. He has four 308's that he runs this set-up on himself, no problems. Just hasn't fitted on a 202 before.
His suggestion is that we replace with Sandon compressor.
Any thoughts/advice?
Many thanks,
Todd

A sendan 508 is a far superior compressor, as it's more compact, much much more efficient whilst drawing less power from the 202.

Id go with the Sanden esp on a smaller engine eg 202, having said that Holden fitted the A6 as factory air conditioning on the HZ 202 so if you have the correct belt it should not slip. Also if you wish to maintain authenticity then stay with the A6..but that only really is a consideration if the rest of the car is standard factory, if its modified then go with the smaller compressor..also note there is a big price difference between the 2...a Sanden is a lot cheaper than an A6...

A cog belt ... the one with the cogs on the inside generally gets a good grip. It might be hard to find.

Can you fab up a bracket and run a Commodore belt tensioner.

There is also a belt spray you can buy. I think it's called Anti Squeal Belt spray. This won't be the answer but it might help.

A photo uploaded so you can see the profile of the cog belt.
