my mates been bugging me to put this pic here on the off chance someone might know what model it is. we know its a bedford roadster ute, no idea on year 30?'s maybe. Although it say's british bedford, under the spare wheel we found a holden lion badge. i know holden was building body's for bedford. someone has already had a go at rodding it cuase it has a 179, 3spd crash box and banjo fitted. p.s. we saved this from being crushed, but missed out on a willy's of some sort and a near perfect vl calais(no motor or box)

front of guards look more like '34/5.
As Holdens built pretty well all gm cars of th' day, most panels like very similar.
My '36 (see cdw308, holden bodied chev rod/chev rod 2) is squarer along bunper line.
Mine also has Holden badge where your spare wheel is, at bottom of cowl above runnin' board. Is your badge still in good nick?
Mine is v'good and just had to soak it in thinners to remove the layers of old paint.
I'm guna put mine back on the rod when done as then she'll be a true ozzy Holden rod and proudly so!!!
Do you have or can get the book 'history of holden' it has a maroon cover? I has a lot of info of these ol' girls, so may be able to show you more about it.
cheers col

I will have to manufaucture everything from the doors back but hopefully it will resemble the Roadster Utility, albeit stretched somewhat to fit my lard ass in behind the wheel hehe

Oughta be publicly flogged for destroyin valuable old tin!

Whyyyyy hell ya may even convert Rusty ta pre'48's instead of post'48's hehe
Then all hell will break loose when Rusty dons his John Milner getup with his USB Pen Drive rolled up in his T-Sleeve and strides out in his faded cuffed denims and ripple soled Doc Martins with a litre of hpr50 ta slick his locks back into a DuckyBoy hairdo whilst squinting thru his RayBans on his way to his Yellow Chopped '32 Chevy Coupe hehe
Well sumpfin' like that hehe :{|
Yeah I was hangin' out the window all the way from Ippy to just outta Pittsworth lookin for an ol Chassis an Body hangin out of an old shed somewhere but looks like the Toowoomba Boyz have all but picked the country side clean!
I don't know if ya know about these guys yet but check out the crazy Twin Turbo T-Bucket on a '48 Vanguard Chassis hehe
Just a shame bout the glass body but it looks Old Skool Kustom Kool none the less *droolz* hehe

guys, this link was recently posted by (from memory) arsewipe
http://www.holden.co...

on the right of the page there are links to download pt 1,2&3 in .pdf's (150 pages or so) for the complete 'holden heritage' book latest edition.
great reading with lots of info on all holden's own models, production numbers, export models/numbers/markets (oinks!), and mentions building car bodies early on, and the nameplates they attached to all the bodies they produced. if you have a good plate hang on to it! early history is thinner than recent history and doesn't exactly specify earlier models, but it is complete from 1852(!)->2004.
and it's FREE.
something else i learnt is that australia didn't have a prime-minister until 1901!

Course not mate, before 1901 we had 6 govenors and were technically still 6 seperate independant colonies. I don't even think we had a Gov general... Federation was 1901 and in 2001 we had that stupid centenary of federation thing to celebrate... you know, founded on a vote not a war etc etc :)
The NT used to be part of SA and ACT was part of NSW.

"we are one" HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Hi, I am the guy who saved and owns the bedford roadster ute in this posting and it has since been stripped and I have begun rodding it. I have the complete ute and now know its full history.

Please post up full details and I'll add them the Bedford H Page.

I'd say this is a pre-war Model.

The battery placement is on a bracket that is attached to the side of the chassis so rust in the chassis isnt a problem.
