It was common practice for Holden to release the commercial vehicles, the year after the passenger cars. The EH van and ute would have been released in 1965, hence the HD colour.

So why do I have a 1963 Perth assembled EH Panel Van?

Regards Blue

EH van and ute were released at the same time as the EH sedan and wagon. Commercials are staggered when the body shape changes but thee engine does not. So EH utes could be made with HD sedans as the engine was the same. FJ with FC (FJ gets more powerful grey motor of FC for short time) FC with FB, EK with EJ, Eh with HD, HR with HK, HG with HQ (same type of engine even though different capacity)VS with VT, VZ with VE. These late built commercials are always painted in the next model colours, which is an easy way to identify them.

That is correct.

In similar fashion to FJ, EK & HG, the utes & vans ran several months into the next model series' production run.

In the EH's case the commercials were still being built until June 1965, which means that the last 6 months production of these cars were built alongside HD sedans & wagons & painted in HD colours.

There were a few other differences with 1965 EH utes & vans too. They also had the HD/HR commercial style (wider) brakes.
