Rusty Iron Rally, Macksville

Topic:
Image:

I went with the family to The Rusty Iron Rally today. Mainly old agricultural machinery, trucks, tractors and stationary engines, but any thing old was welcome. A couple of old holdens too. Will definitely go next year with i'll take my old man!. I've never been before but a great Sunday outing with the family. On every fathers Day weekend.
BTW did ford do 4wd xy/xw utes? I found this on google images from a previous year.

Ford made those 4x4 XY utes.
They used Jeep front and rear axles and transfer case with a Ford 6 cylinder motor and 3 speed manual gearbox.
They didn't have a full chassis, just the original monocoque body.
I believe Ford were chasing an Army supply contract with them.
They were sold to the public through Ford dealers. They sold 392. There are a couple of wagons around that were made using parts from utes. There used to be a converted wagon in Kempsey.
These utes were supposed to have inspired Arthur Hayward to do the Overlander. He did a much better job.

Old is good.

On the subject of rare cars some bloke has enough parts to keep making DeLoreans. He has an assembly line etc.

I saw this on some Foxtel thing about a week ago.

British entrepreneur Stephen Wynne started a separate company in 1995 based in Texas and using the "DeLorean Motor Company" name. He acquired the trademark on the stylized "DMC" logo shortly thereafter, as well as the remaining parts inventory of the original DeLorean Motor Company. The company builds new cars at its suburban Humble, Texas location from new old stock (NOS) parts, original equipment manufacturer (OEM), and reproduction parts on a "made to order" basis using existing vehicle identification number (VIN) plates.[5]

Disclaimer :- The above is purely speculation and is only posted for entertainment purposes!!!

i happened to be watching 7mate yesterday when that obnoxious show with the cockney old fart and the pompous rich wanker "restore" cars in a tight deadline and cut corners - the car they were doing was a delorean and sure enough they needed parts and went to the place you speak of. a full on warehouse of genuine new delorean parts. wow...
