AC Fuel Pump Kit

Hello All
I'm trying to find a diaphragm kit for my old glass bowl AC Delco fuel pump (I would like to keep the engine original rather than fit an aftermarket unit). Can anyone confirm that the Goss 199VC kit will fit the AC pump? Thanks in advance!

They're pretty much impossible to find. I ended up buying another old pump on eBay that had a serviceable diaphragm. Rare Spares have brand new glass bowl pumps at about $180

Myeh has posted in this Page about the Goss Kit ... http://holdenpaedia....

He is a very credible OH Member who has been here for Years.

I agree with 1963EJ. I abandoned the AC Pump because it was too hard to source parts for. The Goss Pump suffered from Case Flex and leaked Oil.

The first 2 Carter Pumps I used suffered from Spindle Seal failure (Oil leaking from under the Diaphragm) after about 14 months of use.

The subsequent one lasted years without failure. I gave that pump to somebody years ago.

yes the glass bowl type have a thinner mounting boss, yes they can leak oil due to warp and flex here

solution?

run 2 or 3 gaskets siliconed in between.

the kits are the same between red glass bowl type and blue/black type if that helps...

Whilst I really do appreciate the feedback I've received, I'm a stubborn old bugger. I reckon the same pump was fitted to numerous other vehicle types and brands here and overseas and with a bit of research I'll find one. (and then I'll make my fortune importing and selling them yehaa!) Only wasted 4 hours so far on the www and I've progressed no further but as mentioned previously STUBBORN.

GMH themselves abandoned the AC pump in favour of the Carter Pump.

That happened in the early '80's.

and one of those still had the fuel pump attached which appears to work. There were kits on eBay a while back for around $95 and the pumps come up often enough. Just a bit of a gamble as to whether they will work. Good luck.

Gday,

If you are still chasing a pump kit for the AC style fuel pump, give Roger Hancock (Holden Restomotive in VIC) a call on 0408 349 185.

http://www.earlyhold...

I am not connected with him in any way other than having bought good quality, hard to get items from him several times in the past.

Good luck.
