I did not know RACQ was an incorporated club, how do you go about getting a dating letter for you car? Also who signs the club letterhead letter for Qld Transport? How much did it cost you to get Special Interest rego organised through RACQ? RACQ told me they do not allow members cars to be on Special Interest rego, as in they do not assist with getting the paperwork done by or through them.

you will need to be a member of a suitable car club that is part of the vicroads approved clubs. once a member, you can then apply to vicroads for rego appropriate to your needs and the clubs authorised person will sign off for you once you have an rwc for your vehicle. pretty cheap reg for an occasional driver.

alternatively, get a few mates, incorporate a club and apply to vicroads to be part of the red plate scheme and away yous all go

You need to join an affiliated car club (that is, affiliated with Vic Roads). From there, the club will get you to obtain a Roadworthy Certificate, from which you can take to Vic Roads, and swap the registration of your car on to Club Reg. You'll have the choice of a 45 or 90 day club permit. Meaning the option of driving the cars for 45 or 90 days a year. The only difference is the price.

Thanks Tonna. I was looking for a reasonable club for an Old Holden.
