HR Disc Brake Caliper question

Hoping someone can help me out here .
I took my calipers into a brake shop to get reconditioned recently and unfortunately one had some cracks show up around the joining bolts . Anyway , I managed to source some second hand calipers and had one of these reconditioned to make a pair again . Visually they are identical . The part numbers are the same though there is a prefix that is different. I went to bolt my wheels on Friday night and realized the replacement caliper fouls on the wheel slightly as the caliper is sitting about 5mm proud of the mounting face of the hub . Also , the caliper only has about 1mm of clearance to the edge of the hub . I measured the width of both calipers and have found the replacement caliper is 4mm wider than the original and the mounting holes are in a slighly different position also. Hence why I'm having troubles. My question is - are all hr calipers the same or did they change them slightly between years possibly as mine is a 66. Or has the guy I bought them off dicked me around and sold me a different model caliper . Seems strange that the part numbers are the same though.
Anyway I've attached some photos to try and show what I mean
Thanks Pete

Old is good.

The Nasco first 20 years parts book list the part numbers as

Caliper Assembly HD and HR Disc Brakes

LH7426201
RH7426200

it may be possible to remove a bit of material to give you the required clearance but not affect the integrity of the caliper.
