oo

Ive been told by my mechanic it still has spark and there is no fuel problem thats why he doesnt understand whats wrong

I hope this helps - i have the exact same car and it kept doing the same thing - i changed the coil and it helped for a while, but then started doing it again. I ended up replacing it with a second hand GT40R Bosch one (the ones they used to use in HJs and such) and it's been working ok now for about 3 months.

Ive been told that there is still spark and there is no fuel problem

i had same problem changed everything ended up it was the ignition module on the inner guard cuts in cuts out.Replaced it it was fine have heard of a couple of others in same situation to.

If the V8 CAS is anything like the V6 CAS, the traditional test is to pour water on it when the car stops.

If the car starts and runs again you've identified the fault.

I ve been told there is no spark problem and the fuel is fine

T would be the man to speak too, he knows alot about electrical problems.

Sounds to me like some sort of sensor isnt working properly, maybe something to do with air flow sensor or something that doesnt involve the spark directly.

Cheers

There is no CAS on a V8 EFI.
Crank reference is taken from the dissy.

I'm only making suggestions here ....

is the mentioned module the Bosch HEI module?

If so, it may be missing the silicon grease between it and the distributor casing.

I Like your thinking but no in this case it is not the usual 024 style module mounted on the dissy. It is a stand alone unit mounted on the passenger side strut tower. It looks like the old Bosch electronic conversion kit module supplied many years ago, or if you know valiants it also looks like the ELB unit they used in the late 70's. These Bosch units fail regularly and the price has gone through the roof recently due to component cost rises. [http://gallery.oldho...|My EH Holden Shed]

I know nothing about EFI Holden V8's although I've been enlightened now.

Same thing happened to me on VR V8 many years ago, turned out to be the ignition module - replaced it and all good.
