hi what sort of oil do you use to fill trolley jacks with please? and while i'm asking, what sort of oil to use in air compressor?
I use auto trans oil in both....
You can get hydraulic jack oil from most auto shops and any engineering / industrial outlet. You can get compressor oil from anywhere - Autopro / Repco etc. They both come in 1 Litre bottles. If you have a direct drive compressor you can drop in some wynns or nulon etc - any oil additive and it cuts down the noise and the heat.
Political Correctness is a doctrine, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd from the clean end.
As above, I buy both at autopro in 1 litre containers but if your stuck (as we were when picking up an FJ body from a clearing sale)you can stick vegetable oil in your jack; I'm not recomending it but we did it months ago out of nessesity and the cooking oils still in it and working fine.
