V8 oil pressure

Going to start my brand new V8 soon as I get it together and I am going to crank it over for a bit first so I know it has pressure before firing up

How will I be able to confirm it has pressure (like is there something I remove and oil drips out or something) or are there other ways

Thank you

Hook up your oil pressure gauge or light and crank until the gauge shows pressure or the light goes out...

You may also hear the lifters stop rattling (depending on exhaust...).

Cheers...Dave

I have perviously on my 308 removed the cover off the oil pump filled it up with vasoline & put it on & fired it up - oil pressure was there in a instant. I think the reason is that it takes all the air out of the rotors in the oil pump & creates a vaccum so it sucks oil out of the sump straight away no need to crank it over & over & over waiting for oil to come up. You may want to use this, it has worked for me.
Other members may have another way or advise.
