Gearbox End Tailshaft Yoke Welch Plug

Is there any truth in the rumour that the gearbox end of some tailshaft yokes has a welch plug in it that can allow gearbox oil
to leak through?

If so, what Holdens does it appear on?

HQ to WB, LH to UC, VB to VK all have them.
ANY gearbox factory fitted to these models have wesh plugs in the tailshaft yoke.
Can create a very hard to find leak, especially with autos as the oil is much thinner.

An auto ace mentioned this to me some time ago.

My UC's Trimatic showed an ATF drip on the front uni the other day
hence this post.

If the drip persists after being wiped down I'll know where to look.
There is no sign of a leak from anywhere else.

Hi T. Yes my HT Kingswood had a welch plug in the yoke. It didn't leak thankfully.

The only yoke I inspected for one had no plug. It may have been weleded up.
