bit of an annoying problem with me trimatic.

this is what it does is this:

say i'm slowing down to turn into a street. then brake. once around corner i put foot down.

the auto then sort of pauses, then makes a high, whizzing noise as it kicks down to 2nd or 1st (not quite sure - probably should be 1st).

it's as though its not properly kicking down when i slow down BEFORE i get to the corner
with a closed throttle.

i'm sure the vacuum hose connecting manifold to vacuum modulator is clear and well sealed.

any ideas anyone?

btw, someone told me the carby solenoid (which i've removed ages ago) has a wire going to
the auto for something. could this be it? manual does show that solenoid goes to auto transmission but doesn't explain it.

Has anyone got a HQ Vol 1 service manual they don't want anymore. I'm Looking for one.

I know that the HK monaro's had a different ratio steering box. Is this the same for the HQ Monaro's? If so, how can i tell?

Hi Folks, I cannot figure this out. Have a HZ 6 cyl Kingswood owned it pass 6 years or so, never had any problems with the factory power steering. A mounting bolt broke of in the pump behind the pulley ,in the meanwhile I put another pump on it, (Didn't work I assumed the spare pump was u/s) had a local mechanic fix the original pump , (refitted this pump back, on same thing, I assumed, from being knocked around on the vice, it was u/s)
Purchased a reconditioned power steering pump, now better, but seems to be working intermittently, steering goes from easy to hard off and on all the time.
Fluid Level is correct
Belt tension is correct, its not slipping/squealing.
Tyre pressure is 32 psi.
No leaks anywhere, including power steering box.

can anyone tell me how to do it - can it possibly be an easy bolt-on job snf will it drain noticeable power?

hi, just wondering if hr's were used by the nsw government? as i was striping out the interior of my 67 hr premier i have found 2 old nsw government pens under the passenger front seat. i reckon this had never been removed before as it was still glued to the floor, and still has original carpet. my prem also has a stencil on the underside of the bonnet saying "sold and serviced by boyded pty ltd", a holden dealership in nsw as far as i know. any info will be appreciated.

p.s. i found 3 aussie coins under the seat aswell and guess what years they were from, yep you guessed it, 2 from 1966 and the other from 1967. coincidence?

G'day all. I am just wondering about what options there are for repro front seatbelts for HQ-WB Kingswoods there are. The belts on my ute are fraying along the edges and I would like to replace them. Are there any that have the original style buckles, or do they all have modern buckles fitted?

Hi All,

I have fixed the ticking sound with a new gasket oil pump seal. Part number gasket oil pick up 92060041 for anyone .
I had to order a few o-rings to get the correct one.

But I still have the problem with the oil leak.

The oil leaks between the back of the engine and the front of the gearbox.

It looks like it drips from the two back blots of the sump ???

Has anyone else had this problem ?

It looks like the rear main seal is faulty???

Hi guys. Had my turbo gemini tuned and it goes really well. Just wondering if anybody knows a few different ways i can go to electronic ignition? Tuner said that the point system is right on the verge of not being enough. He advised I look into an electronic ignition. Anybody know how I can go about it? By the way its a TF gemini 1.6l.

if i'm gonna spend all those $$$, i need to know a tyre/wheel
joint who will take special care of my rims by using rubber protectors
on its machines.

does anyone know if their machines can/need to be set at an extra clearnace (say 1")
to protect me rims more?

how else can i stop careless tyre joints/mechanics from ruining
me stuff? ....dress rims, centres, over-tightening wheel nuts with air gun..

Hi guys. Recently turboed my gemini. Standard motor 1.6 with blower style cam and a gt28 turbo. It's intercooled and blow through set up. Blows through a K and N blower hat into a 38dgs webber. It has vl fuel system and a boost refference mallpassive style fuel reg. I live in warrnambool and I am struggling to find someone to tune it. It starts easily, it just idles a bit high and doesnt come on boost as hard as it should. Anyone know somewhere that would be able to get it running properly for me? Preferably with a dyno.

G'day all, Does anyone know what colour the interior light casing should be on a HZ Kingswood ute with a tan interior? The casing for mine looks like it is buckskin rather than tan. So far on Ebay I've only found black, buckskin and silver coloured light casings.
