Hi all,
I want to keep the column shift in my HJ wagon which I'm doing a LS1 and 4 speed auto conversion. I've tried using a cable but it doesn't feel right (sloppy). Has anyone got a standard linkage setup to suit a TH400/350? And does anyone know if it'll work on a TH700/4L60E 4 speed auto?

Hi,
I'm in the process of a fuel injected conversion on the HJ ute. I intend to use 1 x Bosch 044 that will meet the HP supply but I have no idea what to order with respect to the LP side of things?
Do I just simply match the flow rate of the lift pump to that of the HP pump?
I would appreciate any comments.
Thanks, Nathan

I am looking for a hq stato but would also consider other models. I am looking for something with no major mods is clean and with no major rust. I am not looking for a Show car and don't need a motor but I am not stressed if it does have one. If you have something I may be interested in please dont hesitate to send me an email at rhysmcgrath@bigpond.com.

I have sold my HJ sedan and bought a WB ute. It has a blue 202/3.3 and I am having issues with the factory carby. I have heard people rave about a weber progressive dual throat carbie, not only increases efficiency, but easier to tune, good for power when the second butterfly opens etc. Apparently it was standard on two liter fords etc but is fine for the 202.
Has anybody got any advice about this conversion, know where I would get a weber jetted right for the 202 and adaptors, etc?

As mentioned in another post I'm about to start building a hybrid 4by, HQ tonner cabin on a GQ patrol chassis so I've got the rest of the tonner up for sale.
It has diff, 253 (suit rebuild, I've not had it running), tailshaft, all brakes and suspension, alloy tray with gas tank(not in date) and front and rear roll bars etc etc.
$650 firm
Also got a 186S that I'm sick of moving, recently removed the sump.
$200 firm
Ht V8 sump $350
9 inch diff currently in hq ute, will confirm ratio etc.

G'Day all,
I'm in need of a HQ fuel gauge and a matching fuel sender unit for my 253 HQ one tonner. Must be in good working condition and both the gauge and the sender must be from the same vehicle to ensure they are compatable with each other.
Needed ASAP.
Let me know what you've got...Pics/Prices

Good day, OH'ers.
I have just removed the heads and camshaft from my 253, which I bought "used" a couple of years ago. At that time the seller told me the engine had a modified camshaft in it, although he didn't know how much. Since then, other people who have heard the engine when it was running, have also commented that it "had a cam". From the attachment, could someone identify the markings?
Thanks for the information,
Richard.

This car has nothing to do with me - however I saw it today at our club swap at Taupiri North Island NZ (Waikato region)

Steering question moved here.
The WOF thing is actually a life saver as I discovered quite recently. Despite doing regular checks - stuff can get missed. My FC Coupe just had a WOF and while it was over the pit I discovered the steering box was slightly loose, two split pins had broken and where missing from the drag link - as a result of the loosening steering box.
What had happened was the dog washers behind the nuts on the steering box mount had shattered and fallen away - after that the nuts could work loose. This was discovered only because I took the car to a different garage for its WOF - one with a pit. By wiggling the wheel with the weight of the car on the steering we could see movement.

So thinking of going down for the bendigo swap in a week or two, but have been told by others the super southern swap at ballarat in feb is better for HQ stuff, so not sure if ill hold off till then.
So whats peoples experiences? is there a good range of HQ stuff there, seems alot of the meets I've been to lately have bugger all for the HQ, always seems to be too much ford junk..
also any free camping around either towns, with 2wd access.
thanks

Hello to all,my name is Bill. l have been a member for awhile. The site has been awesome for info and advice. My situation is,l am progressing into the motor selection side of my windowless Hz panny.
After buying a donor Ute and stripping it for
parts.
I have 308H39290 with supra 5 speed from Ute. Motor and box in good nick.
I also have a 308-11QT813898 with a turbo 400. Both units are very tired from the panny.
Lastly a 308-j577940 with a Stage 2 trimatic. Motor tired box recoed.
My problem is l want to keep it as compliant for
emission and era as possible.
I have had one of my sons telling me the motor
starting with J serial number is from a VL and l may have trouble with emmissions.
Would one of the gurus be able to help by deciphering these engine numbers for me please?.
