HD Ute floor

Hi all, I'm not able to become a member yet but I'd like some opinions {yes, i know all about opinions !!} I have a HD holden barn find ute, it was left for years without screens and windows, at some stage, water got into it and completely rested out the floors, front and back to the fuel tank, and up to the seam in the firewall, both the top part of the firewall and behind the seat wall section are rust free. I was lucky enough to stumble onto a guy that had a complete HR Premier wagon floor in great condition, including the bottom of the pillars and sills intact.

hz seam sealer

gday all you boys,

may i pls ask whether anyone can recommend what i
should do about tidying up underneath my hz plenum panel - where it comes out the sides and covers the front-top of the front doors.

it looks like there are some welds in there so i presume that stuff is seam sealer eh?

1) should i pick it out, rust treat the whole area, then use
seam sealer again?

2) is the seam sealer really necessary?...or is there something more modern i should use instead these days?
