202 temp sensor removal

Having trouble removing the temp sensor bolt. The engine currently has no sensor but what looks like an adaptor with a small plug in it. I've bought a sensor and want to put it in but I'm having trouble removing the adaptor. It is behind the Carby passenger side of engine? The rocker cover seems to be stoping my socket from getting hold of it. Anyone else had this problem?

HT Power Steer Pitman Arm

G'day,

I've fitted the genuine ram style power steer to my HT and I'm trying to locate the correct Pitman Arm. Anyone know about these?

Apparently they use a standard Pitman Arm and remanufacture it to replicate the Power Steer version... Pricey though, $229 delivered...

Swap HQ front twin light nose to single

Just wondering if anyone has info on swapping out my twin light premier front nose to a single light front nose. Obviously I am going from twin lights to single headlights however my query being is this an easy conversion I could do myself regarding the wiring or is there a bit to it where I would need to get a auto electrician in to hook it up ?

BRISBANE ENGINE BUILDERS

Hi Guys,

Just chasing some info - I got a 202 for my HG and after putting it in I discovered its done a bearing. Im looking to just rebuild mine or get an exchange engine.

Ive been quoted approx. 3k for - Them to supply a new engine, rebuilt with a stage 1 cam - this was from a company that used to sell production line built 202's and didn't have the best rep a few years ago. Im sure you can guess what company.... This one is apparently not one of the production line and has been built by the head builder.

I have also been quoted the same price (give or take a few dollars) from a few other places to do a stock rebuild on the engine I have (not a matching number car so keeping it original isn't an issue)

HQ - LS1, 308 or 350 Chev

Hey Guys,

I've got a HQ Wagon shell that's been sitting up at our farm for numerous years rotting away and I'm finally of age where I can fund and restore the car. It originally had the 202 Straight 6 in it but was taken out and given to my uncles mate. I want to restore it to it's former glory but with massive power upgrades. What are your guys opinions, and how hard/much work is it to fit an LS1 with a T56 or TR-6060 Manual box into it? Is much modification needed or is it a pretty much straight swap.

I've been tossing up with a 308, 350 Chev or a LS1 and am looking towards the LS1 because it's just a bigger, easier engine to get parts for and can make a lot more power a lot easier. As for the gearbox, would you recommend a T56 or a TR-6060 (not interested in auto boxes)?

Prefered Auto box conversion for WB 308

I appologise as I am sure there are previous threads covering this and feel free to point me in the right direction. I have a WB ute with an aussie 4 speed box that i want to convert to an auto as it is a cruising car. What are the preferred auto boxes for this ? Thanks in advance. JP
