parts for sale

I'm starting a business soon and need to sell some of my parts to raise capital.

All gear is to suit red 308

HQ early heads, heavily ported with Yella Terra valves, double valve springs and Yella Terra 5010 Roller Rockers and push rods. $750ono

Edelbrock Torker Manifold with chrome thermostat housing in VGC nice and clean $150ono

Peter Jackson gear drives $100ono

Pace maker extractors to suit hq-wb, well used and in fair condition $100ono

Crane cam CCH 304A, lifters and double valve springs, cam has a bit of light surface rust $125ono

All the above parts were brought from Aussie V8 members, I havent used them at all.

Tail shaft, was in wb ute with toploader and 9" diff $100ono

Hq tonner cabin and doors, in reasonable condition, $250ono

Interstate Freight

Hi Old Holdeners

Been doing my head in as to how I can get some doors sent economically from QLD to WA. Just checked www.e-go.com.au and they will do up to 25kg's and 0.75m3 for $9.90 from any of their 20 odd depots to any of their capital city depots (excluding Alice Springs and Darwin). Sounds like a good deal to me and fantastic for eBay and Gumtree buyers and sellers.

Now if I can just get these doors in under 25kg's.....

Update OK : Doors 29kg with trim, glass and mirror. Quote from e-go.com $1450.76 for 4 doors packed in boxes (made for flat screen TV's) 0.63m3 each. e-go.com not interested in negotiating at all. Very disappointed..... hopefully someone can benefit from the e-go.com offer and enjoys the doors!.

Update CQ2U promo ute

hi guys,

Just an update of how things have been going this past week,

got the LH side skirt all tacked in and looking good :-)

had to stop half way through tacking the RH side because i realised the rear springs
weren't even, bit saggy on the left side and i didn't want uneven skirts

spent today pulling out the springs, pulling them apart and resetting each leaf, if only it was that easy :-(
they ended up coming out spot on though so the effort was worth it.

HR da forz: drain tube pic

You can see the drain tube on the right, where it goes from under the tray floor straight out through the floorpan onto the road.

My students are building another engine...

This one is going into the Rodeo shooting buggy...with a Trimatic.
First take 3 engines..a 202, 173 and a 3.3 efi.

The 202 will form the base, the 173 will add the High Comp head and the 3.3 the lumpy cam.
Then add a 350 Holley and extractors and we have Mr Q's Red 6 engine build up class :)

Thanks for the positive comments, the wheels will have hq hubcaps with square edge dress rims. The color is Cognac Metallic a standard holden color. Still the interior to go in and then the blue slip!!!

Big HR fuel tank 186S?

Hi all.
I recently had a look at a HR sedan that had been sitting for 20 years.
The 186s badge on the boot got my attention but the car is fitted with a 202 and aussie 4 speed.
The body No is HR22527032-S. When I opened the boot the petrol tank looked unusually large.
Can anyone tell me by the body No whether it is a 186s and do they have a lerger fuel tank.
Any help appreciated.

Not a huge show, but building each year. Well worth the trip down to Rosebud to check it out next year. It got rained out a couple of years which was a shame. This year? Fantastic.

Timing Marks

I am going to replace the Harmonic Balancer on the 138 Red, the old one is definitely wobbling a little, wont be helping the engine vibration. Have ordered one with timing degrees marked on the balancer which will make it easier to set up the timing. Just a question on Red Motor Timing marks. According to Holdenpaedia the Long mark is 5 degrees BTDC and the smaller ones are 2 degrees each. My question is why on earth are there 4 marks on the retarded side? These would be 3 BTDC, 1 BTDC and 1 and 3 ABOVE TDC respectively. Why would you want marks showing ABOVE TDC?

253 Carb Size

Hi all

My 253 has a Holley 4412-2 500cfm 2bbl on it - it was on it when I bought it a few years ago.

Question is - is this carb too big for a 253? Should I have a 350cfm instead.

I ask because while tuning it, and setting the idle mixture screws for max vacuum reading, I have to lean it out quite a bit.

The Holley instructions say idle mixture screws out 1 1/2 turns is correct start point.
So I did that - and to get best vacuum reading I have to have the scews out at only 1 turn from base - which is on the lean side.

WHICH MODEL IS IT ?

apparently a 4 door Monaro,,,can some one help me sort out the chassis number,,id,,
chassis number BHJ41054A ,,engine number QR768AS7 I have worked out that the motor is a HQ Holden / late HZ Holden High Compression engine,,i am having great difficulty with the chassis number,,any body help ????..CHEERS

i have no idea what class it would of ran, but im sure if it was crash and bash, it would never loose, judging by the amount of bar work
