Transmission Controllers

I was wondering if anybody has had much to do with transmission controllers.I have 2 maybe dumb questions..I have a Hz 1 tonner that I am re-building...I took the engine and gearbox out of a VR 5ltr commodore and had both reconditioned, I replaced the manifold with a Harrop single plane and topped that with a 670 Holley, I was told that I needed a Trans controller and I purchased a TCI EZ-TCU controller....Good time to add "I know extremely little about cars"....
Q1. I have a HEI Distributer so can I just buy a CD ignition box and which would people recommend.

LONG TERM CAR ADERTiSEMENTS

I often look through the cars that are advertised on the right hand side of the oldholden page. Not because I want to buy I don't have any spare cash, I just dream on. There are always a couple of cars that have been advertised mainly on eBay for months on end. I can't help thinking is there something wrong with these cars? Should there be a time limited on how long you can advertise a car. Cars that are good value don't last long, cars that are suspect may take a little longer, any thoughts cheers

Deteriorated Subframe Rubbers

Finally pulled the front end out of the EH today, to perform the much needed replacement of the subframe to front end rubbers. Pictures will show this is loooong overdue.

VN diff upgrade.

Thinking of going to VN diff, the old banjo is getting harder to keep heads in for long... not breaking them, just wearing them out! Can't find a Salisbury cheap enough and they don't come with 3.9 gears. Heaps of BW diffs around for as little as $80. Mates dad owns a machine shop, can weld the 4 link brackets on, using some from a spare housing I have. Does anyone know (stupid question?) which other model came with the 3.9 gears?

New Seats

A few weeks ago I mentioned that I was getting my seats trimmed by Adrian from Kool Trim in Hillside.

This is the result - and I am ABSOLUTELY PLEASED by the results.

Seats were $600, which included new hessian, repaired foam and a painting of all the metal bits. All I supplied were new side covers for the seats.

The door trims were $90 each - I supplied the metal door caps, lock ferules and the weather strips.

They are covered in grey vinyl, and I can't fault them.

Looking for an Alternator

Morning everyone.

I am trying to track down a replacement alternator for a mid 2000 Astra. Not Old Holden, but a buggered Holden.

It would need to be in the Albury/Wodonga area or close enough to there. Needed to get a new business partner to work on Monday.

If anyone has something, please let me know on 0419 369 748 and I will organise to get it.

Cheers,

Webber

EJ boot lid sound proofing?

I am just wondering what the stuff is stuck the boot lid. It looks like some sort of sprayed on sound proofing but it also looks like it has rust on the surface. Does anyone have any ideas?
