Hatchback quarter glass dome nuts

Is there any substitutes for the dome nuts on torana quarter glass. 60 dollars sounds pretty rich for a kit from rare spares. cheers

Hello all

I have a very original hj ute with a red 202 and a 3 on the tree box (clunk cluck). I was just wondering what things i could do to get better fuel economy? Extractors? Tune? Diff?

Cheers

HJ Ute Diff fuel economy

Hello All

I'm new to all this. I was hanging around the dark side(fords) and deceided to see the light.

Just got myself a HJ Ute. I'm the second owner of this old ute. The old guy who i got it off owned it since new.

Im wondering what others are getting as far as fuel economy? Its a 202 3 on the tree. What are you guys getting to a tank? How do i go about finding the ratio of my diff? And, what are some other diffs that i could use, to get better fuel economy? Did hj utes come out in other ratio's?

Would really appreciate some reply's.
Cheers

missing tag

There is clearly a tag missing from here. looks like it has been missing for a long time.
What info should be on it?

How specific would it be to my vehicle? worth trying to find a replacement?

HR holden horn

Hey guys i just got the original steering wheel for my HR and when putting it on i couldnt work out how the horn went on.

Is there something that stops the horn contact from hitting the metal on the steering column and making the horn go off because i dont have anything there.

would be great if anyone could answer.

1973 Motor Show video, Holden Stand

Hey, found a video on youtube of a motor show in 1973 at the Holden stand. A couple of HQ customs there, a van I've seen a photo of before, and a wild sedan that I'm thinking might have been the 'Old Man Emu' prototype designed to take on the Phase 4 Falcon.

WANTED, Bolts for steering arms... HR Front End.

G'day again everyone.

I am chasing four bolts... I know I could go and buy some from the local parts shop, but I don't have anything to compare the thread to, so I have no idea what thread type or size bolts I'm after.

They are the bolts that fix the steering arms to the back of the caliper on a HR front end.

If anyone can help with a set, I'm keen to pay for them as well as postage to Perth.

Thanks in advance lads.
Dan.

the dilema

gday all,

Just thought I'd throw something out into the forum and see what happens
I have a HQ SS that I believe to be genuine that has been recoed mechanically but has a stuffed body , I also have a HQ prem that I was going to use as a body donor but also has a small amount of rust in odd spots amd I'm not sure what to do with them.
both are complete cars
this is generally a no brainer but after the birth of our second child and I have plenty of other projects I may have to let them go
any thoughts would be helpful
cheers
gary

My Missus will shoot me excuse

Went to get 4 high tensile bolts today and the guy behind me gave me a bill for $45.00. Jesus I said the wife will shoot me as it was going on her card with that he said hang on I will talk to the boss and see if we can get a better price.

They come back out type a couple of things onto the screen and wow I got them for $22.00. So I think I might try this excuse when having to buy car parts.

Rear wheel bearings in a banjo

Ive heard conflicting comments on the correct way to fit the rear wheel bearings & locking rings to the axles on my banjo diff. As I use the car as a Variety Bash car, I have the wheel bearing change each year. The last place was a diff specialist who pushed the bearing on & heated the ring with an oxy, lightly pushed it on & allowed it to cool & contract. Others say you shouldnt apply heat but press the locking ring on.

Ive always got good advice from this forum.

Any help appreciated.
Anthony

Can't find it :-(

Righto, It's RABBIT SEASON and here be my good deed for the day:

Anyone cruising around the Wattle park - Surrey hills area in their oldholden ?
Celine has lost her white bunny rabbit. it escaped from it's hutch about a month ago but bunny has been sighted in the area several times since, last week being the latest sighting.
If you spot the bunny, call 96-900-693 and ask fer Neil.
