Howdy all,
I'm looking for an old holden panelvan for sale. Preferably something like an HZ or HJ with a 253, 308 or 350 chev.
I'm in adelaide but willing to travel, as long as the car is in good enough condition for me to drive it home.
Thanks,
Tom

Hello,
Got a 307 dual fuel (quadrajet Carby) & i am finding that when I switch from Petrol to Gas, the Power keeps dropping out. It will start & idle fine, but as soon as you get to about 1500rpm it dies.
I have been told that the "Gas hat" (unsure) isn't dropping & that basically too much air is getting in. To fix it I have to pull a small vaccumm hose off & then reconnect (about a 10 sec job) & she runs fine.
Although its no big hassle (I run Gas most of the time) it basically just annoys me & i was wondering if anyone out there knew how to fix it (ie: do I just need to CRC a part or are talking Rebuilding the carby).

Just wondering if someone could help me out. I am fitting a new cam to my blue 202 and got some new timing gears. Now I pulled the large timing gear off the cam before removing the cam with a gear puller. But the small timing gear, I can't find any way of getting it off. I'm told the original holden gears had threads in the two holes so that a gear puller can be used. As the one on there is an aftermarket, the holes are not threded. So my question is, do I need to drill out and thread the two holes in the gear while still on the engine to remove it with a gear puller? If I do this how will I get the new gear onto the shaft? I would have to give it pretty big hits with a hammer or something to get it on, right? Wouldn't that damage anything? Surely I don't need to remove the crankshaft to get it off? I'd like to not need to do that. Any advice appreciated as I don't want to only replace the large timing gear!!!!

ok so theres this big flat spot when i put the foot down, just before the secondaries open, im running a 600holley on a warm 308. start accelerating hit about 3k secondaries are about to open, then all of a sudden the vaccum drops off to zero (on my guage) feels like the engines stalled for a second, then the secondaries open and bam she takes off.... now my primary jets are alittle too small, i jetted them down abit when we were trying to work out why it was running rich, could running too lean at that point be the cause of this flat spot and loss of vaccum???

for sale or swap, eh special sedan for restoration.
bog stock original except for towbar
motor is supposed to be full reco b4 car was stored
i did start to paint in primer as the car was going to be stored for a few years but we ran out of space
the body itself is good, only rust is bubly holes behind the dog leg trims that i can think of
now the real problem, the front subframe is [Naughty Pottyword]ed, has lots of rust holes etc, and the mounting for the swaybar on 1 side had rusted/broken off, i did weld a bolt there to try to hold the sway bar there, as i was intending to drive the car to my sisters shed about 30km away

Merry christmas everyone
I have a slight problem.. My HK's handbrake is not setup and I have never fiddled with one before, so I was wondering if anyone happens to have a diagram or a manual on how to set it up and what parts/cables I may need.. Would be greatly appreciated.

Wouldn't you know it - driving home yesterday could smell this really strong fuel smell. Got home and found that the jerry can had turned over and I'd lost litre into the boot. Pretty much soaked through the carpet in the boot and managed to dissolve the paint in the boot. I'm not sure what type of paint it is though. Seems to have a skin and then a gummy/bog type subsstance under it. The paint won't reharden so I'm going to have to scrape it out and paint it again.
Any suggestions as to what this type of paint might be? Is there a special type of paint for boots? Or is that rust preventing pain the way to go?
