Engine Number ID

I am in the process of buying a nice black WB one tonner but I am a little woried about the engine number on the rego paper (as there is no other paper work with the vehicle) it says the engine number is 2M11154VB and I am told it has a 350 chev and it looks like it does have a 350 chev but I havn't seen many. Is the number of a 350 chev ? or is it a Holden engine block number for the cars original engine ? so I will have to get a permit if it isn't?

GDay Everyone,
The sheds have been moved to a new hard drive now as we had a fair few problems last week with the existing hard drive getting to its limit. (Interesting to watch though;)
If you did some shed work last night(2amEST) just check it all got over, if I get no complaints I'll delete the other copy as it takes the server out if I backit up properly.
So the Shed stats....
~2Gb in the directory. 7562 images from the top of the sheds page and 16Gb of EMPTY SPACE !
Bigger files like larger videos will ditch so contact us so we can help (pics are AOK). There are a small number of videos at the moment but this probably will increase.

Power

hey guys, ive got a 253 on gas, and im wandering if ne1 knows any basic mods to get a bit more power out of it, like would straight lpg with a proper mixer instead of plate on top of carb, better manifold, extractors, port matched manifolds, higher ratio rockers, advanced timing, just nething like that, and is it worth it, and just how much more am i going to get out of it by doin that sort of stuff, at the moment, its standard except for lpg heads, and an lpg cam, i dont know the specs, since this was all done b4 i got the car, so if ne1 has ne ideas, that wont cost a fortune, i would appreci

308 drama continued...

Ok... despite not being able to weed out this problem I took my baby out for a tow anyway since I had no choice :( Basically she will idle ok when warm, but if i rev it it begins to die but some revs are ok (if this makes sense) Anyway, took her out and god bless the mighty 308 she still pulled a load up some big hills in this sorry state. It would run ok at low speed and slowly begin to die out and then I would need to give it a small rev and it would come back to life again - did this the whole freakin way there and back... vroom vrrr put put vrrrroooom vrr vr put put vrooom and so on (bloody annoying if you can imagine)

tail shaft length

Anyone able to tell me the difference in length between a tail shaft from a HG with a banjo/trimatic/308 and a hg with a 10bolt/powerglide/sbc? it would be greatly appreciated.

restores fantasy- so easy to restore, or drive as is
no reg/ etc
ridgy didgy oringal unmodified kingswood
the only added is a boot light, easy to remove, and seatbealts if there not standed
186, powerglide, disk front end
great floor, boot etc
only minor rust spots and they are-
on the bottom of both front gaurds, easy repair
think both rear doglegs bubbly, but also easy repair
there is a tiny hole behind battery
back seat is in almost terrific condition, no rips/tears etc, just starting to crackle at the top edge from the sun but hardly noticable
the front has i 2 small tears and is a bit sagy.

hk and vl... heres a challenge- soundsystems!!!

ok... we have a hk brougham and a vl walkinshaw (no 211) in our shed minus soundsystems. the thing is the walky has new 6x9s and a kenwood head unit and still... although the sound has improved it isnt as clear as it could be. btw both cars r sedans. now i know door pods are the way to go with vls and we can do that aswell as install quite large speakers in the back, (there are already holes for 7x10s and a large woofer cut into the parcel shelf... not by us!) so what is the way to go here... im thinking some door pods, 6x9s back and front, (parcel shelf and doorpods) with a woofer in the boot, (portable) or the parcel shalf, and if it goes into the shelf what should we do about ports?

Retro build-up of a classic Red six

I have a HR special Sedan with a Reco'd 186ci, 3 speed on the floor. I would like to rebuild the motor, or fit parts to gain some needed performance. I'm after a motor that can hold its own and yet be economical.
If posible I would like to keep the motor LOOKING as 'OLDSKOOL' as posible? this means keeping with the twin Stomburgs & manifold?

How much power has any one produced with such a set-up?
What parts were used in the build up, And what was the costs?

308 WANTED

308 or 253 wanted for my tonner as the pistons are [Naughty Pottyword]ed, im assuming ones cracked... i could use a short motor (just the bottom half of the engine) as all the top parts of mine are sweet.

Bedford cf250

Hi, wondering if i could ask you a couple of questions about a bedford cf250 tray back. My mate has one and he's looking for a new diff with a low ratio ie a 3.6 or 3.8 instead of a 4.4 that it has now. Also he's looking for a disk front end. Any help with these issues would be greatly appreciated....Cheers
