Hi all.

Got a HR ute with a blue 202 motor, only had it for about a week.
the bloke i bought it off also had a new turbo, VK injection head and manifold with it.
I'm thinking of using the setup, but i don't just want to bolt it on and hope for the best.
I want to rebuild the engine first.
I've got minimal knowledge in the turbocharging sort of thing.
What would be the best biuld to run a turbo??
cam, commpression, crank, pistons ect. ect...
Also any decent engine builders in the newcastle area? would travel to sydney if i have to.

Hi,all....
One of my old Bosch electronic dizzies(off a blue motor??)needs the twin wires that goes to dizzy replaced as they are old and crinkly,with splits.
Easy enough job to do,but not sure what ampage wiring to use.
I have 15amp wires lying around somewhere I can use...will they be strong enough??

I was wondering if anyone had some knowledge on where I can get a hardlid for my HZ ute, I have seen aluminium hardlids advertised a while ago but can't seem to find any now. Not worried about the particular material as long as it's professional. Preferably in the VIC or lower NSW areas.

how much are oil pumps these days, looking to replace the one in my WB (202). Is it worth while rebuilding the existing one. Any suggestion on brands and prices would be appreciated.

hi all im doing up a red 202 and i would like about 250hp out of it and it has to be n/a becuse im on my p's ...how much work and stuff do i have to get and do to it so i can get that much hp out of it i've got some ideas for what i want to do to it but i dont know if they r good combos ( this is what i would go with )

202 red block ( 9 port)
60 thou overbore flat top pistons
42-82 waggot cam
custom ground crankshaft
electronic distributor
a 350/465 holly or ( 45 webbers if i can get some)
hardend star fire conrods or other hardend conrods
extractors
yella terra head ( ported and polished )maybe shaved
yella terra roller rockers
yella terra hardened valves for unleaded

..is their anything else i could do to it ?

Just a quick one guys, have recently broke a interior door handle on my hz ute. it snaped because the latch on the door is getting increasingly harder and harder to open the door. i got a new handle today but dont want to put it on yet as i dont want it to snap like the other one. outside handle hasnt gone yet!
whats a good way on making these doors easier to open?

Hi If I were to remove my aussie 4speed box from my EH & relace it with a celica 5 speed steelcase would the trans hump need much modifying?

Just got myself a 67'HR ute.
very nice inside and out, has quite abit of work on the interier, but has no sound system.
Just asking if anyone knows of any links or DIY's out there for building a decent sound system?

..and in Tasmania, with the ambient air temperature never exceeding get-fark-off cold, radiators are not the necessity as they are on the mainland.

I have a great blue 202 3 stage trimatic which runs like a dream. Thinking of juicing it up with VK EFI and extractors. Are there going to be any complications with this conversion. Im not interested in doing any major rebuilds just want some more power for the mean time.

Hi all.

OK, got the 202 VK EFI engine installed and tested in the 1 tonner. Now that I am happy with it I decided to remove the Toyota Celica 5sp gearbox to get it serviced as 2nd and 3rd had trouble changing.

The gearbox guy I have taken it to explained that this gearbox is very hard to get parts for and that it would be better to try and get a Toyota Hilux 5sp from a 2.8 petrol and then he could take the bits from that and put into my box which is a w52 or w55 so that I wouldn't need to change anything else. The reason for this is that the synchro's are dead and all bearings need to be replaced along with the gears. The gearbox was very noisy.

Seems that he is having trouble getting one here in NZ so I am looking at other options for a 5sp.

Just fired up the HZ after replacing some cooling components, only to find that the alternator charge light remains on and wont go out. Also, the fuse for the dash instruments (15A) is blowing within a second or two of starting the engine; (havent yet confirmed if it blows when the "ignition" is turned on or if its happening during the start phase...... would this make a difference?).

apart from disconnect the battery lead, i havent touched any of the wiring. Where would be the likely places to look for a "short"??????

Hi there. I have a couple problems that i could use some help with.

My indicators are irregular, but i cannot seem to find the regulator. Can anyone help?

Also, my cigarette lighter, rear demister and heating all run off one fuse. None of them work, however the light inside the rear de-mister switch turns on, and when i use a volt meter over the fuse arch it reads 12v. Does anyone have any ideas?

Hi,all.Me back for another whinge again.
Going from my experiences (therefore posts here) 3 months ago and also last week,I have another question to ask.
I have 2 Bosch electronic dizzies.One from my LH when I drove it for a couple weeks earlier this year,but not since.It had very lumpy cam,sports head etc red 202 with new electricals(leads,plugs etc) and 12v coil.but terrible pinging and a loss of power under load.The best the timing could be gotten was around 20-25BTDC.
Last week I also upgraded my HZ standard 202,from points to a 2nd-hand Bosch electronic dizzy.I have new electricals...ie.leads,cap,rotor button,NGK plugs(BPR5FS-15...recommended by NGK head office techie)I upgraded the almost new 12VOLT coil from a no-name(??) to a MSD Blaster-3 12V.

I have a set of triple webers which the previous owner painted in black 2pak paint to match the car.
The paint is starting to flake off in a few spots & I have decided I want it removed.
I definitely dont want to mark or scratch the metal in any way.
If there is a method which would leave them looking like new I would go for it.
Any suggestions?

The young bloke's tonner has drum brakes so we'll be doing a conversion later.

I have a disc brake HZ parts car, will the booster and everything simply swap over or will i need certain bits off another HQ ?

Also, "to assist another member"... will HQ drum control arms fit a HZ ?
( it's just to relocate the car)

dialing a wade 140 solid cam in a 202. the writing on the cam's instructions are a bit faded but i'm pretty sure it says 93 thou lift at tdc on o'lap. one tooth gives me 50 thou, the next tooth gives 130 thou.... what do i do????

ute for sale,$900 ono, very straight, one dint behind the passenger door, and rust in passenger floor, and a little bit behind the rear driver wheel. mint dash pad and facia, comes with some spare, needs front bumper and new windscreen, 202 motor and auto, don't know if it runs. inside of rear tub area is pefect as is the uta sides.more pics here http://s188.photobuc...

Goodmorning all. I am wondering if somebody can help with a 6 cylinder trimatic in reasonable working condition. Must have shifter on right hand side and electric kickdown.
Also, I want to test an engine and I need an exhaust manifold to suit a red 202. Perhaps somebody has put extractors on and has their old manifold gathering dust in the shed.
I'm in Brisbane on the Northside, so would prefer close to home if possible.
